Man's Record Court of Honor Conducted at Stacy The largest court of honor ever conducted in the county was held at the free Will Baptist Church of Stacy Monday night. The home troop won the attendance award with 48 Scouts and Scouters pres ent. Troop 130, Morehead City, had 42 present. There were a total of 1(1 at the court. Total of awards and promotions was 220. Dr. Dar den J. Eure was master of cere monies. Troop 201, Beaufort, won the participation award. The troop won 92 promotions and merit badges. There were 71 merit badges, six promotions to first class and 15 promotions to second class. Troop 130 was second in partici pation with 46 merit badges, five promotions to second class, seven to first class and five to Star for a total of 63. Jimmy Mann, Reporter Canada is the only American nation whose national sovereignty was not established by revolution. County Savings Bonds Chairman Reports Sales J. R. Sanders, county savings bonds chairman, announces that $52,369.77 worth of bonds were bought in the county during Aug ust. Cumulative sales for the year in this county were $415,684.23 or 60 per cent of the 1958 county quota. Sales totals for the entire atate show that $3,843,851 in bonds were purchased in August. The total for the first eight months of the year is $32,502,641. I want to thank *11 of the women who have consented to five of their time and talents, to the Girl Scout organization for the coming year. It ia a considerable effort for some to volunteer; but the results are quite rewarding when they know that they have helped to open up new fields of interest for a num ber of girls. In the past two years, Girl Scout ing has grown rapidly in Morebead City. We now have 13 full and active troops. There are girls still on waiting lists who need leaders. McMasters returned the part week from Southern Pilgrim Col lege and camp grounds near Kcr nersville where they attended the annual district conference and camp meeting. During the conference, Mr. Mc Masters was reelected to serve another four-year term on the dis trict church extension board and board of trustees. Mr. McMasters begins his second year as pastor of the Free Grace Pilgrim Holiness Church. Under his leadership the past conference year, the church has enjoyed good gains in both church and Sunday School. Mrs. Dorothy Guthrie is a pa tient at the TB sanatorium at Wil son.
