Couple Married Saturday Cpl. and Mrs. C. A. McCauslin, above, were united in marriage Saturday evening in the First Free Will Baptist Church, Beaufort. Way and son, Brady, spent Wednesday in Kin ston. Mr. Dean Chatlos will leave Sun day for Miami, Fla., after spend ing a week here with his wife and new son. Girl Scouts Meet Monday With Mrs. Leonard Safrit Troop 123 met at Mrs. Leonard Safrit's Monday at 3:30. The meet ing was called to order. Officers were elected as follows: president, Mary Warden; vice-president, Jen nifer Tarkington; secretary. Clara Safrit; treasurer, Bonnie Ward; scribe, Judy Thomas. Dues were collected and plans for a cook-out on Saturday were made. Miss Rachel Willis of Harkers Island and Carlos Bryant Hinnant of Goldsboro were united in marriage. The Rev. C. C. McMaster, pas tor of the Pilgrim Holiness Church officiated. The vows were spoken before an altar decorated with white gladiolas, ivy, wedding bells, and candelabra holding lighted tapers. Mrs. Curtis Nelson, pianist, and Mr. Halas Rose, soloist, presented nuptial music. Selections included The Sweetest Story Ever Told, O Promise Me, and The Lord's Prayer The ceremony was tape re corded by the bride's uncle, Mr. Garry Yeomans. The bride was given in marriage by her father, Mr. Lathan Willis. She wore a dress of white bro caded satin, fashioned along prin cess lines. The bodice featured a neckline with bracelet length sleeves. * Her chapel length veil of silk il lusion, fell from a juliet cap em broidered with seed pearls and iridescent sequins. She carried a white prayer book showered with carnations and streamers and cen- ( tered with a purple throated or chid. Miss Hannah Wrae Nelson wasi maid of honor. Her dress was of blue satin, princess style. With it: she wore white accessories and a corsage of white carnations with bridal trim. Mr. Hugh Hinnant of Goldsboro. brother of the bridegroom, was best man. For her daughter's wedding, Mrs. Willis wore a dress of navy faille, with matching accessories and a corsage of white carnations The bridegroom's mother wore a black crepe dress with matching accessories and a corsage of white carnations. Following the ceremony, the bride's parents entertained at a reception in the home. A blue motiff was used. Mrs. Marvin Hill, aunt of the bride, greeted guests. Miss Bar bara Allen Davis served cake, Mrs. Milton Taylor poured punch and Miss Perry Lou Willis presided at the bride's book. For a wedding trip, the bride wore a navy blue dress with matching accessories and an or chid corsage. After a short wed ding trip the couple will leave for Honolulu, Hawaii where they will live for two years. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lathan Willis of Harkers Island. She is a 1958 gradnate of Smyrna High School. The bridegroom is the son of Mrs. Caro Hinnant and the late Mr. Hinnant of Goldsboro. He is a graduate of Pikesville High School and is now serving in the USCG. Out of town guests were Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Hinnant and chil dren, Sharon and Michael, Mrs. Caro Hinnant, Miss Minville Hin nant and Mr. and Mrs. Bernice Hinnant, all of Goldsboro; Mrs. Marvin Hill and Miss Trudi Hill of Atlantic; Mrs. Milton Taylor of Beaufort; Miss Evelyn Piner of Marshallberg; Mr. Raymond C. Wiregrass Demonstration Club Meets Monday The Wiregrass Home Demonstra tion Club met Monday with Kiss Blanche Dudley in her new trailer. All members were present ex cept one. There was one visitor and one new member. The club women were impressed with Miss Dudley's trailer, learn ing that the trailer can be a com fortable home for a small family. The?e were the words the aeniors yelled to eaeh other Tuesday mom ing when It was found tbtt the class rings had arrived. You have never seen such a happy group of people. By the way everyone was going around showing off his hand, you would think that each had just re ceived a diamond; but I suppose this is just about as exciting. The Beaufort fans have aome thing to look forward to On Oct. 12. Beaufort will be host to Farm viUe. This will be the homecoming game for the Seadogs. This year the school has gone all out for this occasion. They have al ready raised $1,018.63 and are hop Den 4 Cub Scouts Meet With Mrs. Nelson We had our weekly meeting (Pack 367, Den 4) at the home of our Den Mother. Mrs. Edmond Nelson. We meet Wednesday after noons right after school. This week we had two Cub Scout recruits visit our den, Frankie Krusz and Reed Mason. We practiced our den skit which we will present at our next pack meeting Thursday, Oct. 2, out at J. p. Harris' Horse Ranch. The theme for this month is Corral? Round-Up Time. Work was con tinued on our don doodle? every boy took a turn painting an Indian symbol. We worked on achievements 2, 8 and 9 (flag history, rope, and bicycle safety). Next week we will visit some old place of historical interest. In closing we hummed Home on the Range. After the liv ing circle and promise, we played a game of football with our Den Dad. Iversen entertained her bridge club Wednesday eve ning. Mrs. Hose Smith was a guest Prizes were won by Mrs. Smith who received a wall planter, and Mrs. David Jones, who received a novelty sewing bag. Mrs. Iversen served chocolate cake and coffee. Fraternity Officers James Owens. Beaufort, and I Carter 8. Williams, Swansboro, are | officers of the Kappa Alpha Order, (iamma Kho chapter, at East Car olina College. Owens is censor and parliamentarian and Williams is sergeant-at-arms.
