Mrs. Reba Bennett has none back to her home in Miami, Fla., after spending eight weeks with Mrs. Minnie Gillikin and Mrs. Percy Deyo of Morehead City. Miss Ann Lewis, a freshman at Peace College in Raleigh, is ex pected home today to spend the weekend with hef parents, Mr. and Mrs. C. T. Lewis. Mr. and Mrs. Gehrmann Hol land, Mr. Hugh Sailer and Mr. Jack Neal returned home Tuesday night from New York, where they attended the world series games. Mr. and Mrs. Pat Warren are spending several days in Snow Hill. Mrs. T. T. Potter and Mrs. T. H. Potter were in New Bern Monday. Pud Hassell, Buteh Ilassell and Frank Potter spent the weekend in Durham and Chapel Hill and attended the Duke-Illinois football game Saturday. Mr. Clarence Safrit of Troy vis ited his brother, Mr. Robetr Safrit Jr., and family this week. Mrs. H. D. Crockford of Chapel Hill and Mrs. T. M. Egan of Jack sonville, Fla., arrived Monday to spend a week with their mother, Mrs. W. T. Delamar. Msr. James Steed and her grand daughter, Miss Janet Steed, spent the weekend in New Bern and Greenville. Dickie Moore, a sophomore at N. C. State College, Raleigh, will spend the weekend at home with his mother, Mrs. W. W. Moore. Mr. and Mrs. W. M. Gilchrist will return home this weekend from Winston-Salem, where they have been for several dayi. This was quite a disappointment for those who had made the trip. The Latin Club met Friday morn ing for their second annual meet ing. Sandra ftaskins was in charge of the program and it was enjoyed by all. Beaufort was well represented at the district FHA rally in New Bern, Saturday, Oct. 4. About 26 FHA girls attended. The Beaufort chapter gave the devotional and it was very impressive. The Debating Club met Friday for the first time this year. Jackie Wheatley, last year's president, called the meeting to order. New officers were then elected and are as follows: President, Linda Salter; vice president, George Huntley; secre tary, Ann Davis; treasurer, Don na Hudna'l; program chairman, Clifford Lewis. Douglas Piner, president of the Student Council, called a meeting Tuesday, Oct. 7. One of the pro jects of the club this year will be to promote better school spirit.
