Maurice David Pridgen died Fri
day at his home in North River
after a long illness. He was a
member of the North River Meth
odist Church, the Masonic Lodge
of Selma and for SO years was a
member of the Brotherhood of
Railroad Trainmen.
Funeral services were held Sim
day afternoon at the North River
Methodist Church and burial was
In the church cemetery.

Louis Henry Davit, 74, of Mar
shallberg died Sunday morning at
his home. Funeral services were

terday afternoon by the Rev. Wil
liam Jeffries, assisted by the Rev.
James Buchanan. Burial was in
Victoria Cemetery, Marshallberg.

Mrs. Ada Frances Willis, 62, of
Sonthport died at her home Friday.
Funeral services were conducted
at Sea Level Methodist Church Sat
urday with interment there.

and Mrs. Ada Mae Sauls of Vero
Beach, Fla.; two sons, Orville and
Riley of Southport; one brother,
Dick Fulcher of Morehead City;

Mrs. Winnie Willis Hood, 56, of
Newport News, Va., died Wednes
day. She was the sister of Mrs.
Andrew Midgett of Morehead City
and operated a beauty shop here
following World War II.
Funeral services and burial were
held in Southport Friday.
In addition tp her sister, she is
aurvired by her husband, two
daughters, two sons, a brother and
eight grandchildren.

Program on Missions
The Ann Neal Circle of Ann
Street Methodist Church met last
week at the home of Mrs. L. W.
Moore. The chairman, Mrs. Jim
Wheatley, presided.
Mrs. Albert Chappell gave a pro
gram on Mission Fields. She in
troduced Mrs. Ralph Thomas and
Mrs. Adam Metz, who spoke on
Canada and Hawaii. Devotions
were given by Mrs. William Way.
The circle voted to donate $50
to the men's club to be used in
furnishing the pastor's study. They
will also pay for putty to have the
sanctuary windows fixed and will
buy a screen door for the kitchen
of the Eu're building.
Mrs. F. R. Bell was welcomed
a> a new member of the circle.
The hostess served coffee and cin
namon buns.

Payne was solemnized Sunday eve
ning at six o'clock in a ceremony
at Straits Methodist Church. The
vows were heard by the Rev. C.
R. West.
The church was decorated with
white gladiolas and chrysanthe
mums in baskets, southern smilax
and seven - branched candelabra
held lighted cathedral tapers.
A program of nuptial music was
presented by Mrs. Gerald White

A pink and white motif was car
ried out. The table was covered
with a white cloth centered with
an arrangement of pink and white
chrysanthemums flanked with can
delabra holding lighted tapers.
The gift table was arranged with
pink gladiolas and a white parasol
decorated with clusters of minia
ture chrysanthemums.
The honoree was presented a
corsage of pink mums.
About fifty guests attended. Mrs
Murray Pigott poured punch and
Mrs. Bill Pigott and Mrs. A1 Hub
bard served cake. Salted nuts and
bridal mints were also served.

dinner at the fall harvest sale to

leyan Service Guild of Ann Street
Methodist Church.
The dinner will be served from
5-7 p.m. in the Eure building,
where the sale will be held. Tickets
are $1.25 each and may be pur
chased from Mrs. Will Arrington
or Mrs. Anna Pierson.
