Lewis, for four and a hall years bead of the men and boys' department at Belk's, Morebead City, has been promoted to as sistant manager. The promotion was announced Thursday bight at the employees' Christmas party at Mrs. Russell Willis's restaurant. Employees and their guests, numbering 32, at-] tended. Mr. Lewis will continue in his ca pacity as head of the men and boys' wear. A resident of Broad Creek, he and his wife have two children, Mrs. Paul Dingess, and J. W. Lewis, all of Broad Creek. Santa Claus paid a visit at the party. Employees received their Christmas bonuses and exchanged gifts. They presented Luther Earl Lewis, store manager, with fire place accessories and Mr. E. W. Lewis with a pair of shoes. Fisherman Drowns James Allen, Hazelhurst, Ga , fell overboard from the menhaden boat Lois C. eight miles east of Ocracoke last Tuesday and was re ported drowned.
