The FTA members gave devotions oyep tfre intercom each nwptfij Many clubs took special interest in projects to help the needy. The Tri-Hi-Y and Beta Club members collected food to use in Chriwmas baskets, and the whole student body contributed to CARE. To close the celebration the Glee Club presented a Christmas pro gram Friday. The numbers presented by the Glee Club were: We Wish You a Merry Christ mas, The First Noel, Winter Won derland. Masters In This Hall, White Christmas, Come Unto Him, and Q Holy Night. The student body sang .Jingle Bells, Deck the Halls and Silent Night with the Glee Club. An informal fashion review was the highlight of the FHA meeting last Wednesday. The clothes that were modeled were made by members of the second and third year home economics classes. The meeting was the last to be held before Christqias. Barbara Nichols gave the devotions and Doris Farmer gave brief instruc tions on parliamentary procedure Lois Taylor was presented with the pin given annually to the girl selling the most fruitcakes * and the meeting was closed. At their meeting Wednesday the Beta Club planned a program en titled "How to Study." They are planning to give it on Jan. }6 in preparation for mid-term exams. They are also sponsoring "Have Book Will Tutor" as a project to help students who need special help in some subject. They are selling basketball pins to help replenish the treasury. B&PW Club Attepds Christmas Dinner Party The Carteret Business and Pro fessional Women's Club Christmas party took place Wednesday nigjit at the Rex Restaurant. Following a baked ham dinner, poems on Christmas were read by Mrs. Clem Johnson and Mrs. Mar shall Ayscue. H. F. Lindsay intro duced Mrs. Richard Meagher who played Christmas carols on the or gan. After group singing of carols, gifts were exchanged. Winner of a poetry contest was CWO James Hunnings, Beaufort, and winner of a musical quiz contest was Mrs. Retha King. The party was planacd by Mrs. Frank Sample. Miss Hortense Boomer, chair man of the club's student loan fund, announced that a gift of $20 toward tbe fund had been received The centerpiecc at the heal table consisted of red carnations centered in a styrofoam st v and flanked oa the points by five while candles.
