Shoot from ambush Christmas Blossoms Out At Queen Street School When school opened in Septem ber we were happily surprised to sec that our room had a new look. Our walls were painted a beauti ful shade of lemon and brown. The floors were cleaned and waxed and all around us was quite beautiful. We wish to thank the board of education for thinking of us in such a nice way. We have enjoyed making Christmas greetings and decorations for our classroom. In language Arts we wrote let ters and Christmas poems. Here's one we would like to pass oa to you. The Christmas Angel Once 1 saw a Christmas angel Peeping from the heavenly realms I saw it every night I slept I saw how it was kept. The Christmas angel I saw at night Was always in the brightest light. The angel I saw was sweet and kind, She helped me to do the things I mind. ?Cheryl Turner, Grade 4C Grades S and ( are now decorat ing the Christmas tree with decora tions that were mado Wednesday and Thursday of last week. We were very happy that James Crooms got our tree for us this morning. We have our creative work in the front of our classroom. Each person was given the opportunity to express his idea of Christmas on paper. Our creative work Is followed by pictures that repre sent Our Christmas Wish on an adjoining bulletin board space. These pictures wish every one a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. To the rear of the rooms we have expressed our ideas through many illustrations, namely: The Christmas Story, The carolers sing ing Silent Night, Social Studies? The Jamestown Story; Reading Illustrating Dr. Doolittles' Book by Hugh Lofting; Arithmetic, Lay that Pencil Down and Language, Where Do I Belong? Our windows say, "Merry Christ mas" in the snow. ?Grades 5 and 6 We are now approaching the Yuletide Season, which is the cele bration of the Birth of Christ. It is indeed the greatest birthday of ail times. With this in mind, we really have the Christmas Spirit. When we returned to school from our Thanksgiving holiday, we be gan talking about Christmas and its meaning. During our morning devotionals we are reading stories and Bible verses about the birth of Christ We are alio singing Christmas Carols and telling stories from pictures. We are thankful to Mrs. M. 0. Davis for her guidance during our activities. Our Christmas decoration con sists of a scene of the manger, palm trees, camels, candles, bells, Santa, the sleigh and reindeer and many other items. ?Grade 6B The <C and TA classroom is beautifully decorated for the Yule tide season. The partly-glass door through which we enter our class room has a motif of holly leave* and red berries painted on the center window pane am) the words "Seaaon's Greetings". Candles are painted on the bot tom panes. The words ? Joy. Joy, Joy are on the top panes. Also on the door Is an ornament made of red and green foil with a pretty red bow. The borders oa our blackboards are Chriatmas Carols near a brightly colored Christmas tree In the forest with various kind* of animals slanriiag near. The other border is a scene af Santa Oaua and the reindeer traveling over mow-covered bouse tops. It has been snowing and the ground, trees, and houses arc covered with snow. There are snowmen and snow women throughout the scene. The background of the scenes are night blue with silver stars and white cotton, which is used for padding, made to look like snow-covercd grounds. On cach of the windows in our classroom we have made beauti ful wreaths of pine cones and red plastic ribbon. The wreaths are made of three silver gilded pine cones with r*d streamers and large red plastic bows. A village scene is on the lower bottom window panes with Santa Claus and the eight reindeer going over the housetops. This was put on the windows with a stencil and snow waa sprayed on. The bulletin board has a Christ mas tree display. The background on the bulletin board is covered with red tin foil bordered with crepe paper. Around the tree are many Christmas packages. Our Christmas tree is cedar, with decorations we. made. We h = Man Ha* Good Cau?o To Romombor Journey Enid, Okla. (AP) ?
