county precinct officials will
have a chance to mingle with
members of the North ’Caro
lina Council of State and
state party officials who will
be traveling in the usual
caravan, in order to attend
a rally in each Congressional
District.
Congressman Taylor said
the ra’ly is being held in
Marion at the invitation of
McDowell Democratic lead
ers as a special convenience
and gesture of friendship for
the two newest counties in
the district, Rutherford and
MitcheH, added earlier this
year. Also, the rally has
never previous y been held
east of Asheville, Taylor
said.
“We hope that large groups
from Rutherford and Mit
che’l will attend and that
they will be made to feel
very much a part of the en
larged 11th District,” Rep.
Tav’or said.

County Courthouse, Marshall
from 9:00 to 10:00; at the
Yancey County Courthouse,
Bumsvil'e from 1:00 to 2:00;
and at the Town Hall, Spruce
Pine from 3:00 to 4:00.
