The Reverend Ralph Jacks, minister of Higgins Memorial United Methodist Church, offi ciated at the ceremony. w The bride is the daughter of Mis. Woodrow M. Anglin of Rensacola, North Carolina and Mr. Albert Grey Williams of Burnsville, North Carolina. She is a 1971 graduate of East Yancey High School. She at tended Asheville-Buncombe Technical Institute and is pre sently employed with The Northwestern Bank. Mr. Robinson, son of Mrs. Ellen Robinson of Micaville, is presently attending Asheville- Buncombe Technical Institute and is employed with the United Parcel Service in Ashe ville. The bride, given in mar riage by her brother, Albert Glenn Williams of Pensacola, was attired in a floor-length princess-style gown of acetate Lagoda outlined with beaded Chantilly lace motifs. She wore a matching Chapellengh veil of silk illusion outlined with scalloped chantilly lace. For her bouquet she carried a white Bible topped with white feathered carnations and'yellow and white daisies with a de tachable white lace orchid in the center. Mrs. Stephen Edge of Ra leigh, N.C. was her sister's matron of honor, wearing a princess style green velvet dress with gold and white satin trim. She wore a matching headpiece and carried a cas cade bouquet of bronze and yellow mums and daisies. Miss Teresa Ponds of Charlotte, N. C. was the flower girl and was dressed identical to the matron of honor. Miss Lavonne Robinson and Mrs. Tony Tipton, Mis. John Proffitt, and Mrs. Duane Wheel er of Burnsville were honorary bridesmaids and they wore ' Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Banks of the Bolens Creek Communi ty would like to announce the engagement of their daughter Julia Katherine to Roger She pherd. Mr. Shepherd is origin - ally from the Swiss Community and is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Gaither Shepherd. He was a student at Cane River High and is now employed by the Rail - road Company in Cleveland, Oiio. Miss Banks is a graduate of East Yancey High and is now employed by Mohasco Mills of Burnsville. The couple plan an after- Christmas wedding and plan to ipake their home in Cleveland. r Community Events I The East Yancey PTA will meet Monday night, December 4th at 7i30 p. m. in the school library. The program will be Choral Music by the East Yan cey Glee Club. Parents, teach ers and interested students are urged to attend. The East Yancey Student Council is planning a dance for Saturday night, December 2nd. The dance will be held in the Burnsville Community Building. A live band will provide the music. The dance will be held horn Bsoo to 12i00. Admission is sl. 25 Stag and $2.00 Couple. Everyone is welcome. Mrs. Zuver, Student Council Advisor, and other East Yancey teachen will chaperone. * The public is invited to the Gospel Meeting of the Marian Church of Christ, 1101 State Street in Marion, N.C. The date is November 26 dresses of cream brocade satin and carried Doaegays ox bronze and yellow mums. Mr. Tommy Robinson of Micaville served as best man. Ushers were Jackie Boone, Stanley Canoll, Benny Robin son, of Micaville, and Ste - phen Edge of Raleigh. A program of wedding mu sic consisting of Theme from "Romeo and Juliet," "love Story," "Somewhere My Love?' and semi-classical excerpts was given by Charlie Boone, organist. Miss Rosalynde Jacks sang "The Greatest Os These Is love" and "The Lord's Prayer". The traditional ad ding marches were used. A reception immediately followed the ceremony in the “Fellowship Hqjl of the Church. Assisting at the reception were Mis. James Ray, Mrs.Royßay, Mrs. Phillip Thomas, Mis .Bob Thomas, Mrs. Burl Maney, Mb. Billy Brooks Wilson, Miss Jeanne Ray, and Miss Marie Maney. Mrs. Dawson Briggs was at the guest book. The going-away costume of the bride was a knit dress and coat of garnet red and ivory with matching acces - sories. The couple will live at 176 East Chestnut Street in Asheville, North Carolina. Public Meeting Del W. Thorsen, Forest Su pervisor of the National Forests in North Carolina, announced today that Forest Service inter disciplinary team specialists have completed compiling data for the Wilson Creek drainage on the Pisgah National Forest, and a public listening session is scheduled for Decembers at 7:30 p. m. in Western Piedmont College Auditorium, Morgan - ton, North Carolina. Continuing his remarks ,Thcr sen explained that during the past few years interest in the management of nationally owned lands has increased grot ty over the country, and here in Appalachia it has been ex pressed by organizations and individuals. Last December, the Forest Service set up unit planning as a new land-use planning pro cess. It has been adopted for use in 13 National Forests in the Appalachian Mountains. Specific land-use plans will be made for units of National Forest land varying in size from 10,000 to 40,000 acres. The Wilson Creek Unit will be the second such area to be presented to the public asking for additional data, facts, or specific management proposals 1 j oh the future use of the Nation al Forest lands in the Wilson I Creek drainage of the Pisgah I National Forest. through December 1. They have sung in churches and universities in the area and are highly recommended by the faculty and ministerial body of Man Hill College. Every one is invited—young and old. ♦ On Friday evening in front of Ingles the Church of God of Prophecy will be having a Bake Sale with homemade cakess co conut, carrot, cof&ecakes,cup cakes, etc. and pies of all sorts. The sale will be held every other Friday until Christmas.
