Yancey Educators To Host Dinner The “school family” of Yancey Schools will host a regional legislative dinner for members of the 19 75 General Assembly in Canton on November 26. Superintendent of Schools Ed Hunter will assist in the legislative meeting and has stated that he hopes to take most Yancey County School Principals and members of the Board of Education with him. An attendance of 500 people is expected for the dinner which will begin at 6:30 p.m. at Pisgah High School, according to Culver Dale, Director of the Western Regional Education Center. The Western education region is composed of the following school units: Bun combe County, Asheville City, Cherokee County, Clay County, Graham County, Haywood County, Henderson County, Hendersonville City, Jackson County, Madison County, Macon County, Mc- Dowell County, Polk County, Mitchell County, Tryon City, Rutherford County, Swain County, Transylvania County and Yancey County. “We feel that this is an excellent opportunity for re presentatives of our school families in this region to sit down with their own decision makers and discuss the needs of our 1,200,000 public school children,” State School Su perintendent Craig Phillips said. “This is the third of eight regional meetings sche duled in all sections of the state during November and December,” Phillips said. Dept, of Transportation, if you were involved in an accident where there was an injury, fatality or property damage of S2OO or more, you were required to obtain a form to fill out and mail back to Motor Vehicles. Beginning November 1, Traffic Records Section, Divi sion of Motor Vehicles will mail these Traffic Accident forms to you. Traffic Records section will make the decision wheth er to mail the Traffic Accident form based on information supplied by the investigating officer’s report. It is very important, therefore, that you supply to the investigating officer a complete and accur ate mailing address. Entertainment under the direction of Jim Hall, Director of Cultural Arts for the State agency, will be composed of students, teachers and ad ministrators. At the dinner the State superintendent will discuss budget requests of the State Board of Education. Other guests will include county commissioners and other community leaders. Mrs. Pansy Young is spending this week with Mrs. Ruby Wilson of Upper South Toe. ** Mr. Carmon Ogle and Mr. James Simmons were in Spruce Pine on Friday on business. Mt. Wilderness Civil Air Patrol will meet every Monday night at 7*30 p.m. at the Mountain Wilderness Office, Pen sacola, N.C.
