4-H Group Takes Camping Trip
Friday night, Jody 11, the first group of 4-H Action and Adventure participants went camping.
They went to the lovely Briar Bottom Campground located next to Black Mountain Campground In
the South Toe Refuge. The U.S. Forest Service has been very helpful in taking care of their
camping facilities. Thirty-two adventuresome boys were in this group, and they learned a very
good lesson about setting up camp and about the things it takes to get their camps in proper «i«[n»
for their nights sleep.
Another camping trip will be taken Friday, July 25, at the same location. All 4-H Action and
Adventure kids are urged to get in contact with the teen organizer in their community by Tuesday,
July 22, to let him know how many will be going. Pictured above are 4-H Action and Adventure
boys playing softball on the camping trip. The boys are bom Bald Creek, Pensacola and Micaville
clubs.

Stretching
To conserve energy and
stretch gasoline dollars, warm
your car up for at least three
minutes before driving. Then,
try to stay below 30 miles an
hour for the first three or
four miles. By doing this, you
can save as much as four
miles per gallon.
