Melissia also spent several days in Philadelphia visiting with friends. Earlier this summer, Melissia was in Santa Barbara, California for a week to study Management Information Systems in vari ous nationwide Teacher Corps Projects. * Mrs. R.C. All-Day Trip For Youths Another recreational trip for children ages 8 to 13 of Yancey County is planned for Thursday, August 14, to Ghost Town. This is an all-day trip and the bus will leave the Courthouse lot at 7:30 a.m. These trips are sponsored by the County Recreation Commission in cooperation with the county and the local W.A.M.Y. STYLES Shelby A. Styles, 77, of Burnsville died Saturday morning in a Saluda nursing home after a long illness. He was a native of Yancey County and a retired farmer. Surviving are one daugh ter, Mrs. Garmon Ballew of Hollywood, florida; and one son, Clyde A. Styles of Burnsville; three sisters. Mrs. Mary Jones and Mrs. Van L. Choates of Burnsville and Mrs. William A. Bailey of Hendersonville; one brother, Willie Lee Styles of Burns ville; and six grandchildren. Funeral services were held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday in the Windom Baptist Church of which he was a member. Revs. Lee Woody, Jack Silvers and Richard Muri officiated and burial was in the Honeycutt Cemetery. A. EWART WILSON A. Ewart Wilson, 85, of Pensacola died Saturday morning at his home after an illness of three months. He was the son of the late A.G. and Columbia Jane Silver Wilson and the grand son of the pioneer bear hunter ‘‘Big Tom" Wilson. He built the first motor road to Mt. Mitchell and operated the Mount Mitchell Inn at Stepps Gap for 38 years until the State of North Carolina acquired the property for use in the state park. He was founder and charter member of the ‘‘Big Tom Wilson Hunting Club”. Surviving are one daugh ter, Mrs. Brooks Boone of Pensacola; two sons, Tom Wilson of Spruce Pine and Ned Wilson of Pensacola; two sisters, Mrs. Clyde Bagwell and Mrs. Theo Ray of Pensacola; five grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday in the Pensacola Methodist Church of which he was a member. Rev. Edith Morgan officiated and burial was in the family cemetery. GRADY ROLAND Mrs. Sena Roland, 88, of the Pensacola Community died Wednesday morning in a Spruce Pine hospital after a short illness. She was thp daughter of the late Nelson and Martha Sawyer Wilson. Burnsville, Mrs. Elsie Yates of Kentucky, Mrs. Hattie Blevins of Marion, N.C. and Mrs. Madge McGowan of Michigan; three half-broth ers, Marshall Wilson of Marshall, N.C., Walter Wil, son of Baltimore, Md., and Hurlan Wilson of Burnsville; 22 grandchildren and several great grandchildren also sur vive.
