O.W. DEYTON David Neal Seeks GOP Nomination David G. Neal of Asheville recently announced his inten tion to seek the Republican nomination for the North Carolina State Senate com prising the twenty-sixth Senatorial District. Neal, who considers himself a “Progressive Conservative” on the issues, said the following in making his an nouncement: “North Carolina, as well as the entire nation, is going through fundamental economic and social changes causing deep concerns about the future well-being of its citizens. There must be corresponding changes in state government to reflect these new economic and social trends in order to accom modate the representative needs of its citizens, while, at the same time, preserving in dividual rights and freedoms. Without addressing these needed changes in state government, the general apathy, alienation and dissatisfaction among the people toward its state gover nment will intensify. “A new day, a new era of DAVID NEAL state government is upon us. New leadership, new ideas are needed to cope with this changing order.” The 39-year old candidate has been a resident of Asheville for several years and has been principally engaged in real estate brokerage business. A graduate of Penn Hills Senior High School in Penn Hills, Pa., he received his BS degree from Clarion State College in Clarion, Pa. and took graduate studies in political science at West Virginia University.
