Frank Cifaldi Wins
Horseshoe Contest
FRANK CIFALDI
Frank Cifaldi of Route 2,
Burnsville traveled to Nash
ville, Tennessee to compete in
the 1982 Tennessee State
Championship Horseshoeing
and Forging contest on
January 30. The classes in
cluded the making of different
types of horseshoes, forge
welding and forge brazing and
shoeing on quarter horses.
Competitors came from
Florida, Massachusetts,
Georgia, Kentucky, Ohio,
Tennessee and North
Carolina.
Contestants accumulated
points in each class, and the
overall winner was the 1982
champion. Frank ac
cumulated the most points and
won the Tennessee Champion
ship.
Also, a few months ago
Frank Cifaldi won the 1981
North Carolina-Virginia Star
Championship.

Brothers Celebrate
Joshua Brian Banks celebrated his first
birthday on January 15. David Jason Banks
celebrated his fifth birthday on February 1.
They both had a small party at their home.
They are the sons of Frank and Shelba Banks

Timmy and Tambra Blevins celebrated
their birthdays Wednesday, January 20 and
Sunday, January 24, 1982. Tambra was 9 years
old Wednesday and she is in 3rd grade at
Micaville Elementary; Timmy was 13 years
old Sunday and he’s in the 7th grade at East
Yancey Middle School They are the children of
Mr. and Mrs. Charles Blevins. Grandparents
are Mr. and Mrs. Mack Blankenship and Mrs.
Luther Blevins, all of Burnsville.

in the young-teen division of
the district canning com
petition.
This is the third year that
Carolyn has won district
honors. She is 13 years old and
attends Arthur Morgan School
in Celo.
