Johnny Rosa, 18, Now At Memorial Mission Hospital ANDREWS - On December S, 1961, Johnny Rosa Stiles, 18, wis injured in ? car ac cident returning from football game in the nearby town of Franklin. He was taken to Ashevllle Orthopedic Hospital and has spent the past IS months there, with the exception of being moved to Memorial Mis sion for frequent operations. During his conflnment he has taken a few steps in braces one time. On Wednesday it became necessary n> remove a para lyzed kidney and he will re main at Memorial Mission for several weeks. He would appreciate cards or letters from any of his friends in Andrews. Johnny is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Grady Stiles. Hazel Parker, 52, Dies?At Brevard Hospital ANDREWS - Mr*. Hazel Barton Parker. 52, died March 26, In a Brevard hospital af?r a long Illness. She was die widow of James J. Parker who died in 1960 and the owner and operator of Hilltop FlorlstShopandMotel. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Brevard. Services were held on Wed nesday at 2:00 pjn. In the church with the Revs. Harold K1111 an and B. W. Thomas of ficiating and burial was in Plsgah Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers were Bill Ly day, Claude Melton, Weldon Melsenhelmer, Tom Mc Crary, Paul Owens, and John Collins. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Joan Shuford of Ashe vllle; the mother, Mrs. W. J. Barton of Marble; four sis ters, Mrs. R. M. Hannah and Mrs. B. H. Mlntz. both of Andrews, Mrs. Ray Pulllum of Columbus, Ga., and Miss Elizabeth Barton of Marble; four brothers, C. C. and Fred Barton, both of Marble, H. A. Barton of Canton, and Glenn Barton of Sandy Lake, Pa., and two grandchildren. Arrangements were under the direction of Kllpatrlck Funeral Home of Brevard. Butler with a Bible aa a farewell gift in appreciation for the years he has spent as their teacher, companion and friend. The Valley town Home Demonstration Club met on Wethtesday after noon at the home of Mrs. G. E. Lall with Mrs. WI G. Mc Keldrey as associate hostess. Mrs. Luke Ellis, president, presided. A program relating to Health Problems of Cherokee County was presented by Mrs. S. J. Gernert, Mrs. E. U. Burch, and Betty Sue Beat. This same program was re peated on Thursday afternoon at the Gr^te Creek Home Demonstration Club at the home of Mrs. Lloyd Black. Mrs. Burch, County Corn ell president, gave a calendar of coming club events. She announced a hatmaklng work shop for Thursday, April 11, to be given at the Power Board Building in Murphy at IChOO a.m. Mi as Mary Hensley, Jackson County Home Bcono mic'a Agent will give the demonstration. The Club will sponsor a Bake Sale on Friday and Sat urday, April 19 and 20, at the Nantahala Power and Light Company. Proceeds will go to COimty Project Fund.
