MURPHY - Mrs. Nora Har
per Abbott, 71, former resi
dent of Murphy, died Tuesday,
July 30 In a Washington, D.C.
hospital.
A native of Cherokee County
she left here around 30
years ago. She was a daughter

per.
Surviving are four daugh
ters, Mrs. Zelma Carson of
Pelham. Mrs. MargaretSars
fleld of Washington. D. C?
Mrs. Doris Jenson of Nor
folk. Va? and Mrs. Kathryn
Vance of Maryland; three sons
Brlggs Gillespie of San Diego,
Calif., John Gillespie of Silver
Springs, Md., and Dan Gilles
pie of Washlngon. D. C.; a
sister, Mrs. Inez Morrow of
Farner, Tenn., 10 grandchild
ren and one great-grandchild.
The body was returned to
Murphy and services were held
at 2 p.m. Saturday at Tomoda
Methodist Church.
