She was accompanied by her mother, Mrs. Ellen Wheeler, who visited with Miss Mary Hensley in Sylva. Miss Sheeler returned on Friday and she and her mother were weekend guests of Miss Hensley. Stork Market Report NOTICE TO TAXPAYERS MEETING OF THE CHEROKEE COUNTY Board Of Equalization And Review The Cherokee Covaty Board Of Coaaissioitrs WILL SIT AS A BOARD OF EQUALIZATION AND REVIEW ON Wednesday , March 25 FROM 9:00 A.M. ? 4:00 P.M. The Board of Equalization and Review will meet at the Commissioners' Office in the Courthouse in Murphy for the pur pose of examining and reviewing the tax list of each township for the current year. A hearing will be granted to any tax pay er who has a valid reason why he believes an adjustment is necessary on his appraisal, if that person makes a written application for a hearing and mails or brings this written apolication to the Cherokee County Tax Supervisor's Office, Cherokee County Courthouse, Murphy, N. C. prior to March 25. After making the written application, the applicant must appear before the Board on March 25 for his hearing and for the transaction of any other business which may come before the Board in compli ance with the Machinery Act. A March wedding is planned. 5 Local Girls To Attend Senior Scout Conference MURPHY- Five Senior Girl scouts from Murphy will att 4 the Took Homeward, Girl Graduate* Senior Conference sponsored by the Pissah Girl scout council March 20-73 in the Battery Park Hotel in Asheville. More than ISO girls from North Carolina and Tennessee have already registered in cluding the following from Murphy: Naomi Sprung .Ka thy Ressel, Sandra Cornwell, Ir ene Warener, Dianne Wilkins, and Mrs. J. R. Sprung. Wllma Dykeman Stokeley, well known author of the Souther Appla chain area, will be keynote speaker at the Friday evening session. 'The Best of Our Past for the Best of Our Future' will be Mrs. Stokeley's subject for opening the conference which has as its purpose, helping girls find out about career opportunit ies in this area. A letter has been sent from the council to high school principals in this area inviting two girls and a teacher or counselor from their school to attend the conference. These should be girls other than Girl Scouts who have already been invited as the council Is trying to extend opportunities for Girl Scouts to ill girls. Cadette Girl Scouts, junior high school age, have been invited to attend the Friday evening session, hear Mrs. Stokeley and participate in the hootenanny which will follow the program. Saturday's program includ es a number of discussion groups with speakers repres enting various careers, and concludes with a banquet. Mrs. D. A. Gregory, president of the Pisgah Girl Scout council , will address the Sunday morn- 1 ing meeting, after which girls will attend churches of their choice in Ashevllle.
