Mr. and Mrs. Hob F.Tay lor were honored on their stiver wedding anniversary with open house at their home on Mathews Circle, Marietta. Hosts for the occasion were Mr. and Mrs. Winfred A. Crump and Mr. and Mrs. Don ald H. Taylor, children of the couple. The honor ee chose a dress of red wool with which she wore a white and silver car nation corsage and pearl neck lace and earrings, a gift from Mr. Taylor. The refreshment table, overlaid with lace, held a tiered wedding cake decorat ed with silver leaves and 25th anniversary crest. The punch bowl was encircl ed with white and silver pom pons interspersed with fern. Continuing the anniversary theme was a white bell mark ed with a silver "25." The Taylors, who were married in Hiawassee in 1939 have made their homeinMar ietta for fourteen years. They are originally from Murphy. They have two children and one grandchild, Carla Crump. About 60 friends and rela tives called during the anni versary open house. Legion Auxiliary Holds Meeting At Davidson Home MURPHY - The American Legion Auxiliary met last Thursday night at the home of Mrs. John Davidson, with Mrs. Ruth Cheney .president presiding. A report on the Heart Fund Drive, which was spon sored by the Auxiliary .was given. Mrs. Robert Weaver gave a report on traffic safety. Mrs. Davidson served re freshments to the members. Church News MURPHY - The WSCS of the First Methodist Church met on Tuesday afternoon, March 3 at 2 p.m. In the Mens Bible Classroom of the First Methodist Church. Mrs. Harold Wells had charge of the program, "The Cross and the Resurrection." She also led a call to worship and the group sang "Beneath The Cross of Jesus", with Mrs. Merle Davis at the piano. After this Mrs. Wells led a collect. Mrs. Pauline Brittain and Mrs. R. L. Wilklns joined Mrs. Wells in the program reading which included "Old and New Testaments Quotes in Stories, with the group singing two more songs. Then Mrs. Wells concluded the pro gram with prayer.
