QUESTION: Does the Bible
teach anything about Pur
gatory?
ANSWER: No, it does not.
The Bible plainly teaches that
a person will be in the same
condition at the judgement as
he is when he departs from
this world. (Lk. 16:26)
The Bible does speak of a
place called Hades, an
unknown or hidden place where
the soul goes at death to await
the judgement vLk. 16; Acts
2:31).
After the judgement the
soul will go to one of two
places, heaven or hell, to
dwell throughout eternity
(Rev. 21:8, 22:14) depending
on the preparation they made
before death.
