USDA ANNOUNCES CHANGES Changes in the method of electing county ASC commit tees and in the length of their term of office has been an nounced by the USDA. Under the new bill, three major changes relating to the election of ASC county com mittees were authorized. These changes: (1) to es tablish a three - year stag gered term of office for the county committeemen instead of the existing one-year term; (2) provide that a county com mitteeman may not serve more than three consecutive terms. Previously there was no limitation on the number of terms committeemen could serve; (3) provide for the election of county commit teemen by all community com mitteemen at the county con vention rather than by tfae chairman of each community committee in the county.
