Clegg. married last SATURDAY Teachers Entertain Guests At Rozelle’s On Friday night at Rozzelle’s Perry, the classroom teachers en tertained their guests. There were 36 teachers and guests pres ent in alL The places were mark- by miniature corsages for the ladies and buttmiaires for the gentlemen. These were donated by Miss Edna Black. The teachers wish to thank the following for contributing prizes which were presented the lucky winners: Clark-Noles, Beatty Auto Parts, Rhyne Grocery, Holland Drug, Edna Black, Summey Drug, Beaty Bros. Service Station, Hu^ Pas- ch^ Oil Co., Jones Bros. Grocery, Paul Derr, Barnette’s Florist, Rankin’s Dept. Store, Ruth Nut* tall Beauty, and Jo^e D. HarL Mrs. T. I* Ware, president, gave the wdcome address. Enter tainment was given by two ar tists of the faculty, Mrs. Tom Chiles rendered several piano se lections, and Mrs. Paul J ones sang. Rankin Fetes Miss Kendrick Mrs. Frank L. Rankin was host ess at her home. South Main St. at Summit Avenue, Tuesday even ing, entertaining with a dessert bridge in honor of Miss Anne Kendrick, bride-elect. A provision of white flowers in lovely arrangements decorated the rooms, and Miss Kendrick’s place was m^ked with a corsage of gardenias and a niinature bri- day pair in a candleli^t setting. ' Miss Rachel Craig won high score. Miss Dorothy Kile received the floating prize, and the host ess presented the honor guest i gift of silver in her wedding pat tern. Venning, Jr., Mrs. Donald Davis, Miss Jean Barnette and Miss Ruth Craig. TRAVEL TO TARBORO Mr. and Mrs. Brady Guin and son. Buddy, Mr. Jack Painter, and Mrs. G. W. Guin spent the weekend in Tarboro. They were the guests of Mr. and Mrs. Luther Painter. Mrs. Painter and Mr. Guin are brother and sister. They went down on Friday and returned to their home on -Sun day night. Mrs. Baxter McIntosh Hostess To Members Mrs. Baxter McIntosh was host ess to members of her bridge club Thursday evening, entertaining at her home on West Glendale Ave. Party appointments carded out the April showers theme, and an arrangement of spring flowers and minature ximbrellas graced the living room mantel. The din ing room table was centered with bowl of yellow tiUips flanked by yellow candles set in silver holders. During the progressions the hostess served mints, potato chips and iced brinks, and at the conclusion of the game a salad course. Wigs Ann Kendrick won high score. Miss Rachel Craig received the bingo prize, and the floating prize went to Mrs. Donald Davis. Other club members playi^ were Mrs. Jack Summey^ Miss Jean Barnette, Mrs. F. H. Aber nathy. Jr., Mi^ Barbara Hovis, Mrs. O. H. McKinney,' Jr., If/ Dorothy Calvert, and Miss Ruth Craig. Mrs. Bob Cook and Mrs. Max Childers were guests of the club. Borrmann Home Is Scene Of Party Mrs. B. Borrmann was hostess at a bridge luncheon at her home on Summitt Avenue Tuesday after noon. Spring flowers in attractive ar rangements decorated the rooms, and prizes went to Mrs. Robert Freeze, who won hibh score, Mrs. E. D. Robinson, who won second high, and k&s. J. Scott have returned home from a visit to New York- Home Economics Gain Experience Several members of the Home Economics claves at Mount Hol ly Hi^ School have been taking turns spending an entire night at the Home Ec Building under the supervisian of their teachers, Mrs. Lewis aikl Mias Kendrick, during the past week. The girls, carrying out a program which has been highly successful in the past, spend one night during the school week at the building with their instructors and gain much exper-. iences in cooking their own meals. and other housebedd chores. This program has been tried several timps by Home Economics De partment heads and has proven to be extremely helpful to the girls who take turns playing the part of host, hostess, and guests.
