PHONE 3681 THE BLACK MOUNTAIN NEWS I COOK’S CASH STORE | IS NAMED DEALER o Announcement in the form of a two-clor printed certificate reached A. T. Cook today that the Coo’k’s Cash Store had been named auth orized dealer for Anvil Brand utility garments, as one of a se i lect group of stores especially ap pointed by the manufacturers, the High Point Overall Co., High Point, N. C. Entitled “Certificate of Co-op eration,” the document received points out that a broader public service in supplying work gar ments can be brought about by a closer relationship between the manufacturers and the local store, and the manufacturing company offers new and expanded forms of merchandising and promotion as sistance in helping the local insti tution supply its trade area with Anvil Brand goods. “Some time ago,” Mr. Cook said, “the company’s salesman who travels this territory, went into considerable detail about plans wdiich the High Point peo ple are putting into effect, in the effort to insure a steadier supply of utility clothing. War shortages caused by an unprecedented de mand for textiles by the armed i forces, have made all types of j work garments exceedingly scarce, for months. Even now, according j to trade news, weaving mills are only just beginning to complete their reconversion for heavy pro-1 duction of civilian fabrics. So there will be an inescapable con tinuing shortage of garments made of denim, covert, whipcord and similar weaves.” Some goods under the new ar rangement are expected soon, the local merchant added. But as is the case with so many items in all deparmtents of the store, steadily increased supplies for consumers cannot be expected in volume for some little time.
