Y.. and was transferred to the amphi bious forces and sent to Camp Bradford, Va., for further train j ing. He was assigned to an LST as ' executive officer and sent to the i Pacific, participating in the bat ■ ties of Okinawa. Lingayen Gulf, ' and Nasugbu near Corregidor- His 1 ship was hit by a Japanese sui cide plane off Okinawa. After he was promoted to lieu -1 tenant he served as commanding ! officer of an LST. Mr. Taylor resides at Black Mountain with his wife, the form ' er Miss Evelyn Reeves of Leices j ter, and their two children.
