The Wardrobe of the Season J
Pur Summer is a lovely Miss
Improvident and ray. |
Her flowered dress with patience
bought
j khe reckless casts away,
j And squanders attar’s rare per
fume,
Nor hoards the longest day in I
June.
i Ihe sifts that seed and sunshine
wrought
She gives them all,
And blesses harvest with a kiss,
Nor ever counts the cost till Fall.
Our thrifty Autumn dips her
shawl
In Oriental dye;
While Winter cloaked in greys
and brown
Commands the snow to fly
To wrap him in a warm down puff
When wind roars and nights are
rough.
But dancing Spring in emerald
gown
j Mak es haste to leap
Through swollen brook and water
fall
To shake the cherry buds from
sleep.
Aurelia Dora Howells.
