Miss Bessie Hudgins is home from Misson hospital. Mrs. Clarence Wheeler is on the sick list for a few days. The Rev. Mr. Dillinger preached morning and evening sevices at Kerlee Bnptist church Sunday, October 3. Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Slagle spent the week end with Mr. and Mrs. W. S. Gragg. The Willing Workers of Kerlee Baptist church will meet Friday. October 8, at 7 o’clock. Miss Wilma Hogan of Old Fort spent last week with her aunt, Mrs. Roy Burgin. Mrs. Charles Hogan and daugh ter, Mrs. Idene Lytle of Marion visited Mrs. Roy Burgin Sunday. Mrs. Horace Blankenship spent the week end with her daughter Mrs. Sneed in Asheville. The Rev. Robah Johnson is holding a two weeks’ revival in Raleigh, N. C. Mr. and Mrs. Natham Ammons have returned from visiting re latives at Whitmire, S. C. Mrs. Allie Padgett and Mr. and Mrs. Murphy Blankenship visited relatives at Burnsville, Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Will Morris and family had Sunday dinner with Mrs. Pinkney Riddle. Miss Lorraine Stafford and the Misses Lavone and Clara Lee Brad ley motored to Drippin Rock Sun day. Bill Reynolds, Neil Holdway, and Odie Blankenship danced with the Farmer’s Ball team in the Carolina Folk Festival at the City Auditorium in Asheville Fri day and Saturday nights. Friday night the team won honors as the best dance team and Saturday night they came out second place with Bill Reynolds being selected as the best caller and Odie Blank enship as the “Purtiest.” Ret. Neil Holdway left Wednes day for Seattle, Washington en route overseas. TAYLORS AWAY Mr. and Mrs. Ross Taylor left Wednesday for Washington, D. C., to attend a convention. They went via the Skyline Drive and will be gone for a week. Mrs. W. W. Compton will be in charge of the golf course while Mr. Tay lor is away. ATTEND FOOTBALL GAME Richard Ramsey attended the Georgia-Carolina football game in Athens, Ga., October 2. He flew down with Bill Nichols and sev eral other local men.
