Crystal Marie Harper, 11, was aken to the Brunswick Hospital after icing struck by a 1970 Ford driven by riester Smith Babson. 57. of Ash. According to State Trooper L.M. Richardson's report, Ms. Babson was xaveling north on RPR 1331, or Mill Branch Road, when the bicyclist cut across the highway into the path of ler car. Miss Harper and another aassenger on her bike were riding on he shoulder of the highway before lulling in front of the car, Richard;on renortpH Rnth virtimc u-pro taken to the Brunswick Hospital, but only Miss Harper received critical injuries. No citation was issued in the accident. Richardson indicated a violation on the part ot the bicyclist in his report. Ms. Harper was later transferred to New Hanover Memorial Hospital in Wilmington where she was listed in critical condition.
