Greer Jr. ruled probable cause existed last week for a ieiony assault charge against a 20-year-old Hope Mills woman charged with shooting a Whileville woman in jhe head. Teens Elaine 1 erguson was charged Dec. 26 with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious bodily injury after allegedly shooting Renee Tanner, 18, outside a Seatrail residence with a .22 caliber pistol. -tnHop Creer found nrobable cause ""-O for a charge of assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury last Monday, which bound the case over to Superior Court. The Brunswick County Grand Jury will now decide whether or not to hand down an indictment against the defendant. According to Sheriff John Carr Davis, Miss Ferguson turned herself in at the Bruaswick County Sheriff's Department after the shooting. The shooting occurred around 11 p.m. outside the Scatrail home between Ocean Isle and Sunset Beach. Witnesses to the shooting reported the two women were arguing about a man when the shooting occurred, Davis said. Miss Tanner was listed in critical condition at New Hanover rviemoriai Hospital following the shooting, but luis since been released from the hospital.
