Hospice is a concept of care, a program
that seeks to ease the pain and
treat the symptoms of patients who
have a limited time left to live.
Hospice volunteers enable the patient
to spend as much of that time as
possible at home in comfort, and help
the patient's family cope with the illness
and subsequent death.
