U.S. Army officers Major Sam Caldwell and Capt. R. Marshall, representatives of the Commanding General of the First ROTC Region at Fort Bragg, inspected the units at the school. Their comments about the units praised the corps and their leadership. "Your pride in the unit, your knowledge of your jobs and the excellence of your performance here today," Capt. Marshall stated, "are all clear evidences of the fact that this unit is accepting the challenge of JROTC and exercising the responsibilitv of leadershiD." The annual inspection began with a briefing by the cadet battalion staff led by Cadet Major taslie Gore. Other duties were: Caueimajut Duftna Smigiel, briefing on cadet strength and promotion system; Cadet Major l.?amon Clemmons, briefing on training facilities, schedules and class structure; Cadet Capt. Ronald Hockett, issue of clothing and equipment; Cadet Major Jarrett Elliott, briefings on the rifle team, color guard, and Bushmasters Adventure Training Un?t; and Capt.
