Beginning with reading the blueprint, they estimated materials, time, cost and labor needed to complete the project, then actually constructed the dog house, a miniature of an original drawing of a salt box style house. In the course, students get actual "hands-on" experience with electrical wiring, masonry and carpentry, under the direction of Bill Brown, instructor. The curriculum is designed to develop skills that will help students enter the building trades in Brunswick Conty, which is experiencing a rapid growth rate in building and construction.
