West Brunswick High School
students earned recognition Tuesday
for excellence in all aspects of education?academics,
leadership, sports
and service.
The student body, faculty and
parents ot me awara recipients
gathered for the program in the
school gymnasium, with Mrs. E.P.
Gore serving as chairman of the
event for the fifth consecutive year.
Keith Lawrence Stanley of
Shallotte and Debra Pruitt of Ash
were among the seniors who received
the greatest number of awards.
Stanley, who has the highest
academic average of any senior,
received the math achievement, advanced
mathematics, advanced
placement biology and English
awards, along with the physical
education department's scholarship
athlete award and a $600 National
Honor Society Scholarship
Pruitt received the Principal's
Award for outstanding services to the
schooi, mainly for her work in the office,
and the Grace M. Keziah
Award, named in honor of the late
guidance counselor, who retired last
year, and presented annually to the
student who has followed her example
of being "someone who is always
helping others."
She also received the Business
Education Award and an office assistant
award, and was recognized for a
