The Rroom's father performed the
2 p.m. double-ring ceremony. John
Naves, a friend of the couple, provided
gospel music. The sanctuary was
decorated with blue and white carnations,
white bows, candelabra and a
kneeling bench. The couple lighted a
Unity candie as pari of the
. eremony.

he bride wore a floor-length
^rincess-style gown of sheer illusion
vith appliqued motifs over satin taf
eta. The sheer balloon sleeves, with
latching appliqued motifs, gathered
it French cuffs. Her chapel-length
'ell of sheer illusion was edged in
ichlffli embroidery, with on attached
lbow-lcngth blusher. She carried a
souquet of blue and white carnations
lUnchcd to a silk-covered Bible.

street-length dress In blue with white
trim. Bridesmaids Janet Curtis and
Adonnica Moore wore floor-length
gowns of yellow and lavender respectively.
Anthony Reynolds served as best
man. Ricky Reaves and Rodney Curtis
were ushers.
Following the ceremony, a reception
was held at Reaves Fish Camp at
llotdcn Beach. The couple honeymooned
at Blue Wuter Resort, Myrtle
Beach, S.C.
Mrs. Reynolds is a graduate of Battery
Creek High School in Beaufort,
S.C., and is employed at NVVCB
Radio Station in Sluillotte. Her husband
is a graduate of Hoggard High
School in Wilmington and is a patrol
officer with the Shallotte Police
Department.

Members of the lx>ng Bay Garden
Club and husbands enjoyed an outdoor
barbecue supper at the home of
Doris and Joe Olivito, Old Shallotte I
Rd., Shallotte, May 16. i
Among the many summer annuals
already growing well in the Olivito's
garden, the group shared all the grilled
chicken and good food you could
eat prepared by its members.
There was time to reflect on the
many accomplishments of the retiring
slate of officers: Vicki Jones,
president; Dianne Baxley, first vice
president; Motelle Knight, second j
vice president; Barbara Campbell,
secretary; and Frances Williams, |
treasurer.
Members had previously presented !
Vicki Jones with an engraved silver j
bracelet for her efforts on the club's f
behalf.
Newly-elected officers are Dianne I
Baxley, president; Frances Gravatt, j
first vice president; Frances jj
Williams, second vice president;
Marilyn Powless, secretary; Carole
Harris, treasurer. They have the entire
summer to plan new projects and
activities for the club.
The group enjoyed a little bird watching
with an opportunity to see one
of the bluebirds and several purple
martins nesting in the Olivito's
houses. All members have eninved
watching their own bluebird houses
this spring. Due to the efforts of Alice
Robiason, Bluebird Chairman, 38
new birdhouses have been placed in
individual gardens.
