play with the remainder seeing action
next week.
Two of three Brunswick County
teams open Friday with North
Brunswick, under new head coach
Clark Harrell, hosting 1-A Clarkton.
The Scorpions edged Clarkton last
season, 7-6 but then lost their last five
games of the season. Harrell certainly
hopes that trend won't repeat
itself.
South Brunswick also begins play
but will visit Pender. This will be the
first meeting between the Cougars
and Patriots.
Both games involving North and
South Brunswick are nonconference
and will kickoff at 3 p.m.
West Brunswick has an open date
Friday but will see its first action
next Friday also against Pender. The
Patriots return the majority of the
players from last year's 5-6 squad
which finished runnerup in the old
Three Rivers 3-A Conference.
