In an opening assembly designed to acquaint students with all three. Principal David Corley's recurring theme emphasized the importance of human dignity and respect for individuals and their nroDertv. Speaking for the faculty and administration. he pledged. "We're going to do our best to make this the best possible year we can." A green and gold "Trojans" ban ner hung just above Corley's head as students began forming their first impression of the school's "tall and lanky" new leader, formerly principal of Hoik Central High in Columbus, N.C. Briefly sketching his career as educator, former coach and former high school sports and student government leader. Corley praised both the student body and (acuity of West. "West is the best school in the county," he said, listing a continuation of that "strong image in the community" as one of his primary goals for the year. But he let students know the competition could get tough: "I visited South iBrunswick High School i the other day. They're real competitive.
