Special registration nights scheduled around the county will give girls an opportunity to find out more about Girl Scouting in general as well as wnai troops are located in meir neighborhoods. Girl Scouting's program is designed to help girls grow self-awareness and skills, to contribute to their communities and to be good citizens, said Connie Schutte, a spokesman for the Brunswick County Girl Scout Council. Girls explore different opportunities through the five "Worlds of Girl Scouting:" art, people, wellbeing, out-of-doors, and today and tomorrow. Jnderway In the Southport-Oak Island area, girls will gather at Sportsworld for f registration and skating from 7:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. On Friday, Sept. 13, girls in the Ash area can attend registration night at k the Waccamaw Township Park Building near the elementary school from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Also, Mrs. Schutte said. Girl Scouts isn't just limited to girls. Adult volunteers are needed as leaders and assistant leaders for troops of all ages. Volunteers can also sign up during registration week. Those who are interested in being an adult volunteer or registering someone as a Girl Scout and cannot attend a ^ registration night are asked to call either Martha Bridges, 253-5386, or Peggy Heron, 287-6894.
