Man ( A man who repeatedly received unemployment benefits to which lie was not entitled was convicted Wednesday, Oct. 30, in Brunswick County District Court. Charged on eight counts, Johnnie Bryant Jr. pleaded guilty to employment security fraud. He was sentenced by Judge Lee J. Greer Jr. to the State Department of Corrections two years, suspended for three years with three years of supervised probation on condition he pay a $200 fine, make restitution of $510 to the Employment Securitv Commission and not make application for employment benefits. A second, identical sentence goes into effect at the expiration of the first. Bryant collected unemployment checks over a period of more than 10 weeks while he was employed at first one business and then another. Joining Greer in hearing cases in Brunswick County District Criminal Court the week of Oct 28-51 was Judge Jerry A. Jolly on Oct. 31. They heard the following cases: Raymond Bow ens.
