Rev. Ivren Hughes officiated the double ring ceremony. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert A Wells Sr. of Boiling Spring lakes. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. William C. Tripp of Shallotte Point. Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a full-length gown. Chantilly-type lace created a generous flounce encircling the sweetheart neckline with high lace collar. The lace hemline extended into a chapel-length train. She carried a bouquet of pink carnations and alstromeria with babies' breath. Mrs. Sheila Reaves of Iceland was her sister's matron of honor. She wore a long pink rosebud satin gown that featured a sweetheart neckline and short poufed sleeves. The fitted waist dropped to a cluster of tiny gathers in the back. Bridesmaids were Gina Purdue of Bolivia, stepsister of the bride; Christi Mollis of Wilmington, cousin of the bride; and Connie Borszich of Boiling Spring I -akes, a friend of the bride. Their gowns were identical to that worn by the matron of honor. The bridal attendants carried small bouquets of pink carnations and alstroineria with babies' breath accents. The groom's father served as his best man. Ushering were Robert Bell of Raleigh, brother of the bride; Kerry Smith and David Hourk, both of Shallotte and friends of the groom. The bride's mother was attired in a gray street-length dress with pink satin l>elt. Each wore a white carna tion corsage. Pianist and soloist for the service was Tracy I>ord of Dublin, Ga., whe sang "Time In A Bottle," "We've On iy Just Begun," and "The Wedding Prayer." Trie aitar of tlie sanctuary was decorated with candelabras and white candles intertwined with ivy. Kay McCumbee attended the guest register and Mrs. Kim Andrews directed the wedding. Immediately following the ceremony, a reception was held in the fellowship hall. A three-tiered wedding cake was centered on the bride's table, with crystal candelabras holding pink candles at cither end. Mrs. Hazel Williams, a friend of the wedding couple, assisted in cutting the cake. Michelle Hobson, sister of the groom, presided at the punch bowl. Mrs. Kim Andrews assisted in serving. Following a wedding trip to Raleigh, the couple is residing in yuan Kun Kstates near Ocean Isle Beach. The bride is a 1984 graduate of South Brunswick High School at Boiling Spring I.akes. Her husband is a 1979 graduate of West Brunswick High School and is employed with Carolina Power and Ught Co. in Southport.
