Brunswick County roads were the
scenes of three accidents last
Wednesday and Thursday.
An accident involving a car and a
school bus took place on S.R. 1513
(Danford Road) at 7:55 a.m. Wednesday.
Danny Rae Howard, 17, of Bolivia,

a school bus with 35 passengers when
an unknown car passed him, according
to highway patrol reports.
Howard lost control, ran off on the
left shoulder, pulled back onto the
road and ran onto the right shoulder,
hitting the bus.
The bus driver, Cynthia Ignore
Henry, 17, of Inland, had pulled to
the right shoulder in hopes of
avoiding the other vehicle.
Trooper D.A. Lewis issued no
tickets but noted Howard had tried to
pass improperly.
No one was injured. Damages were
estimated at $250 to the bus and $400
to the car.
Another accident occured Thursday
at G:30 p.m., five miles west of

A boat and trailer being pulled
behind a 1974 Ford truck driven by
Rocky I.ane Williamson, 20, of
Shallotte, came unhooked and crossed
the center line, striking head-on a
1976 Cadillac driven by Hubert
Eldridge Canady Sr., 58, of Wilmington.
Trooper L..M. Richardson investigated
the accident. No charges
have been filed.
Canady's car received $3,000 in
damages. The boot and trailer,
belonging to John M. Cong of
Calabash, received $1,500 in
damages.
Canady and a passenger, Major
Canady, 61, were taken to Brunswick
Hospital with Class C injuries, or
complaints.
A third accident took place at 8:45
p.m., approximately 13 miles south
of Bolivia at the intersection of P R.
1130 i Mt. Pisgah Road) and P R 1133
(Empire Road)
