Church decorations included an arched candelabra wth heart-shaped pink floral arrangements accented with crocheted wedding bells made by the bride's maternal grandmother, Estaleen M. Hewett; two other candelabras entwined with ivy; palms, ivy, white chrysanthemums, window candles, a kneeling bench and Unity candle. Music was provided by pianist Jean Jordan and soloist June Dyson, aunt of the bride, both of Wilmington. Songs included "We've Only Just Begun" and "Wedding Prayer." Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a white Alfred Angelo gown of fleur-de-lis chantilly-type lace and polyester net with lacetrimmed, beaded embroidered yoke, hemmed double ruffled bodice with pearl buttons and Victorian sleeves and a natural waistline. The skirt was trimmed with ruffles that flowed into a cathedral train.
