Russell Clark Smith .IS r.f Rnnfp R Whiteville, pleaded guilty Aug. 9 in Brunswick County District Criminal Court to assault with a deadly weapon and injury to personal property, according to the Brunswick County Clerk of Court's office. Court records state that the assault occurred July 15 near the Ocean Isle Beach Pier, when Smith assaulted Luther Wayne Hester Jr. of Sunset Beach.
