Don Edwards and David Bedford of Warsaw will serve as musical and vocal directors, conunuting three times weekly to Southport. Jane Astoske and Stuart Callari will co-direct. Focusing on Rydell High's class of '59, "Grease" captures the look and sound of the rock 'n' roll era with that a formula that made Broadway history in an eight-year run. While the hiD Dannv and wholesome Sandy work out the problems of their mutual attraction, the "gang" sings and dances its way through nostalgic scenes such as a pajama party, the senior prom, the burger house and the drive-in movie. Volunteers are needed in all areas of production; interested persons are asked to call Kitty Pittman, 457-5772. "Grease" will be performed March 16 through 19 at the BCC gym at Lord and 8th Streets, Southport, with the March 16 performance to accommodate area schools. A sock hop for members of the notfor-profit Brunswick Players will follow the play's opening to the public on March 17. Area residents can catch a sneak preview on Friday, March 10, when the lead duo will appear briefly at Southport restaurants to perform "Grease's" signature songs. 8L I 1 t ff %~Off yvf mm* w 4-4846 '?tfy ton 762-7225 . * * V VAon-Fri only) ^ t |00 1 Er Labor g Vaive, Fuel I st & Inspect m * g u j m * y Z V) 2 Adatsfiassfi 3 QC CO X lis) i
