Volunteers S New Teleph< Coordinators of a new telephone reassurance network need volunteers willing to commit a few minutes each day for at least six months. Ouida Hewett, director of the Brunswick County VIC Office, said major objectives of the network are to offer homebound, elderly citizens contact with the "outside world" through a friendly voice and to ensure that they are safe. Network volunteers also serve as a contact person for clients in the event of an emergency or other need. Program directors are looking for responsible and reliable volunteers who enjoy people and have access to a telephone. He showed slides that epicted what plantings had been usd to conserve and improve dunes on rea beaches where erosion damage as occurred. In September, the club presented le book, "Landscape Plants of the outheast" to the West Brunswick ranch Library in honor of Coleman.
