Council Wiii 1 Volunteers from the Brunswick County Council on the Status of Women will be stationed outside county grocery stores Saturday, March 23, collecting food to be dis tributed to needy families by the Volunteer and Information Center. The group collected food valued at more than $6,000 through a simi lar drive during the Christmas sea son, with few shoppers choosing not to contribute. Council Chairperson Ida Mac Mintz said the need for the local food pantry continues. Chief Lina Angstadt reported that the rescue squad answered 32 calls in February, worked 118 hours and traveled 1,474 miles.
