PEOPLE IN THF NFWS $ 1,000 Scholarship Awarded West Brunswick High School se nior Christopher Blake Bradley has been award ed a $1,000 Leaders Schol arship at Mount Olive College. He is the son of Frederick and Carole Bradley of Ocean Isle Beach. At West Brunswick, he has served as president of the Spanish Club. He has been cited as an A-B honor roll student, outstanding cadet in JROTC and student of the month in both sci ence and physical education. The SI, 000 scholarship is renew able each year. Selection for the award is based on academic perfor mance, SAT scores and extracurric ular activities. Bradley, who plans a career in education, has participated in foot ball, baseball and track. Mount Olive, a four -year liberal arts college located in Wayne Coun ty, is sponsored by the Convention of Original Free Will Baptists. Students Rewarded For Perfect Record Attending school paid off imme diately for students at North Bruns wick High School during the fifth six-weeks grading period. Principal James E. McAdams said students with perfect atten dance for the period were invited to a "Stay In School Jam." They re ceived awards and door prizes, and munched on pizza, sub sandwiches and ice cream. Music was provided by a local disc jockey. Bowens To Compete David Bowens, a seventh grade student at Waccamaw School, will represent the Eastern District in the North Carolina Soil and Water Conservation state public speaking finals May 10 in Raleigh.
