Couvillon, Austell Marry At Ocean Isle Chapel Caroline Kay Couvillon and Lar ry Williams Austell were married Saturday, June 8, at 2 p.m. at the Ocean Isle Beach Chapel, Ocean Isle Beach. The Rev. Dan E. Norman per formed the double ring ceremony. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Anatole Couvillon of Ocean Isle Beach. A graduate of the University of North Carolina at Wilmington, she has been employed as an insurance agent and automa tion manager at Coastal Insurance and Realty Inc. in Shallotte. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Maynard Lancaster Austell of Kemersville. He was graduated from Appalachian State University and is a sales representative with Joseph Markovitz, Inc. of Gaines ville, Ga. Given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, the bride wocre a formal gown of white satin. The front and back V-neck bodice wsa adorned with jeweled lace ap pliques. Schiffli lace cuffs accented short puff sleeves with lace ap pliques. The basque waist led to a full skirt decorated with Schiffli lace medallions. The shirt and semi cathedral train were edged with a scalloped Schiffli lace hem. A two tier veil of bridal illusion fell from a headpiece of silk flowers adorned with pearls and crystals. They wore floor-length gowns of blush pink moire featuring a V-ncck bodicc, basque waistline and full skirt. Their cascading bou quets featuied white and burgandy carnations and pink tea roses. The groom's father served as best man. Groomsmen were Steve Aus tell of Memphis, Tenn. Len Austell of Lake Wylie, S.C., and Mike Austell of Charlotte, brothers of the groorn; Frank Couvillon and David Couvillon of Occan Isle Beach, brothers of the bride; and Colt Hot hom of Miami, Fla. Music was provided by Doris Redwine, organist, and Gigi Gore, soloist Laurie McGuirc attended the guest register and Shelby Rudd di rected the wedding. Following the ceremony the bride's parents hosted a reception at Sandpiper Bay Golf and Country Club near Sunset Beach. They were assisted by members of the South Brunswick Islands Pilot Club, of which the bride is a member. A bridal shower was given in Charlotte by Irene Deal, Brenda Austell and Lisa Austell. A brides maids' lunchcon was given at Tav cm-On-The-Tec at Sea Trail Planta tion by Anne-Marie Rourk. After the wedding rehearsal on June 7, the groom's parents enter tained with a barbccue at Occan Isle Beach. The couple will reside in Kerners ville following a honeymoon trip to Florida. CLUB BRIEFS William Gouse Chapter Of DAR Officers Installed New officers for the William Gausc Chapter of the National Society, Daughters of the American Revolution, were installed during the chapter's May meeting. The meeting was held Memorial Day in the gazebo at the U.S.S. North Carolina Battleship Memor ial at Wilmington. Mrs. J.W. Bullock will serve as regent. Other officers are Mary Lou White, vice regent; Lucille Blake, recording and corresponding secre tary; Bobbie Sellers, treasurer; Em ma Ray Hobbs, chaplain; Mrs. Wil liam Hughes, registrar; Gwen Caus ey, historian; and Diane Holden, li brarian. Mrs. Causey was the installing officer. After the ceremony members en joyed the memorial services on the battleship. Flag Program Set A ceremony honoring the birth of the American flag will be held by Calabash Elks Lodge at the Elks Lodge in Traders Village .Saturday, June 15, at 2:30 p.m. The ceremony, required by the Elks' Grand Lodge, is held at every Elks Lodge in the United States. Noting that patriotism and re spect for the American flag are at their highest levels in decades, spokesman John F. Ziefel said the lodge is inviting the public to attend the 30-minute ceremony.
