Lyles Ray and Regina Lyles of Shal lotte have announced the birth of a son, Austin Ray Lyles, June 9 at The Brunswick Hospital in Supply. Bom at 11:37 p.m., Austin weigh ed 6 pounds, 1 ounce and was 19 3/4 inches long. He has a brother, Josh ua Chenier. Born at 8:04 p.m., Melondy weighed 8 pounds, 13 1/2 ounces and was 20 1/2 inches long. Grandparents are Susie and Dan Bartran of South Carolina. Porter John and Rebecca Hilbum Porter of Bolivia have announced the birth of a daughter, Danielle Nicole, born May 13 at The Brunswick Hospital. Arriving at 7:30 p.m., she weigh ed 8 pounds and 1 1 ounces and was 21 and 1/2 inches long. Her maternal great-grandmother is Jane Rivenbark of Wilmington. Her maternal great-great-grandmo ther is Mary Wilson of Wilmington. Paternal grandparents arc John and Mary Porter of Durham. Ad kins Donald and Deborah Adkins of Jacksonville, Fla., have announced the birth of a son, Matthew Scott, May 29 at The Humana Hospital in Orange Park, Fla. Arriving at 5:05 p.m., he weighed 7 pounds, 9 ounces and was 20 1/4 inches long. Maternal grandparents are Thom as and Oree Howard of Bolivia. Paternal grandparents are Bemie and Christine Adkins of Jackson ville, Fla. Great-grandparents are Luther Benton of Supply and Narcie Howard of Bolivia. Family Gathers At Holden Beach For the third consecutive year, the Decker family is holding its family reunion at Holden Beach. The family of the late Mary and Jim Decker of Gastonia includes 10 daughters and a son. Their family members at the re union range in age from 3 to 89. They will be visiting the area for periods ranging from a few days to several weeks from Gastonia; High Point; Rock Hill, S.C.; St. Louis; Tulsa and Atlanta; as well as Ala bama; Illinois and New Jersey. The Rev. John E. Landers per formed the double ring ceremony. Music was provided by soloist Gigi Gore, who sang Wither Thou Goesl, One Hand One Heart and The Lord s Prayer. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James El wood Howard of I Supply and a student at the Camp | bell University School of Pharmacy. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Jackson Gilley of 1 Rocky Mount. He is a 1991 gradu ate of Campbell University and is employed with World Homes Inc. in Rocky Mount. Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore an ivory satin bridal gown featuring a portrait collar of pleated satin with beaded Alcncon iace and a heavily-beaded Alcncon lace Fitted bodice that extended into the full-length sheath skirt. It fea tured a detachable semi-cathcdral train with double-pleated bow at back waist accented with lace mo tifs and edged in Alcncon lace. Her headpiece was a halo of pearl flowers and sequin leaf design accented with crystals. A pouf with scattered pearls topped the fingertip length, rolled-edge veil of bridal il lusion. Julie Benton was the maid of hon or. Bridesmaids were Dcbra Pearson, Lorric Ycary and Monica Howard. Melissa Howard was the flower girl. Bridesmaids and the flower girl wore amethyst satin gowns with fit ted bodice and sabrina necklines dropping to a deep V in the back, accented with pearl appliques on the shoulders and pearl strands to mid back. The dresses also featured mid-length, folded drape sleeves and a fitted, drop waistline with a pcplum that extended back to the length of the long sheath skirt. The bride carried a cascading bou quet of calla lilies, roses and stcph anotis. Attendants carried a single calla lily. The groom chosc his father as best man. Ushers were Ken Howard and Raymond Howard, both of Sup ply, and Thomas Tanner and Will Jcrrone, both of Rocky Mount. Justin Howard was ring bearer. Following the ceremony, a recep tion was held in the church fellow ship hall. The couplc will reside in Rocky Mount following a honeymoon trip to the Cayman Islands.
