The full skirt was en hanced with a detachable chapel length train with Venice lace edging. She chose for her headpiece a white satin hat adorned with silk flowers and pearls with a short veil of rolled-edge bridal illusion. Lora Hcwctt, sister of the bride, served as matron of honor. Brides maids were Grctchcn Elliot and Leigh Helms. They wore tea length dresses of deep coral taffcia. They featured a fitted bodice ball gown neckline, pcplum and straight skin. STUDENTS IN THE NEWS Five Chosen For Youth Leadership School At ECU Five area students have been se lected to attend the Legislators' School for Youth Leadership Devel opment at East Carolina University this summer. They are Christian Tompkins and William Lewis of Ash; James Meares Jr. of Leland; Melinda Keil of Shallotte; and Angelina Trotter of Southport. They will take part in workshops, field trips, outdoor adventures, per formances and other events design ed to enhance leadership, commun ciation, and critical thinking skills. Activities will focus on North Carolina's traditions and its present and future development. In addi tion, students will see films, musical performances and other cultural presentations in the Greenville area. Attends Institute Mark T. Logan of Route 5, Shallotte, attended the Institute for Future Agricul tural Leaders (IFAL), June 17-21, at North Carolina State University.
