PRISCILLA LYNCH LOCKERMAN Pnscilla Lynch Lockerman, 51, of Chadbourn, died Jan. 26 in Rex Hospital in Raleigh after a lengthy illness with cancer. A memorial service was held Jan. 28 in Chadbourn Presbyterian Church by Dr. William E. Pauley. Lockerman taught in the North Carolina Public Schools for 30 years, including the Brunswick County Schools. She was the daughter of the late Andrew J. Lynch. Survivors include a husband. Gore was born in Columbus County, the son of the late William and Millie Hayes Gore. He was an area foreman with the N.C. Brunswick Islands Baptist Breaks Ground For Building Approximately 150 members, friends arid guests of Brunswick Islands Baptist Church attended the groundbreaking Sunday tor a new church building to be constructed at the intersection of Ml Pisgah Church Road and Holden Beach Road iN.C. 130 East). Work on the site will begin \ery soon, as bids have already been re ceived for the excavation. Once site work is completed a concrete slab will be poured and steel erected, said Eddie Long, a deacon of the church. In June, several churchcs across North Carolina plan to send volun teer labor to assist in constructing walls, partitions, doors, windows and other features. Between now and June, church members plan dai ly prayer vigils at a cross that will be erected on the site. At Sunday's 3 p.m. ceremony, Maurice Cook, a retired professor of agriculture from N.C. State Uni versity and current president of the North Carolina Baptist Men outlined the church's progress since its con stitution as a church May 3, 1992. Previously members worshipped as a mission of Antioch Baptist I Church, whose pastor, the Rev. Art hur Yount. look part in the ground breaking program. Also participating were the Rev. Jack Hancox. pastor, Cameron No ms, volunteer coordinator tor the North Carolina Baptist Men; Bill Smith, director of missions for the Brunswick Baptist Association; and the church choir. The church building will be locat ed on an 8.4-acre tract purchased in 1991. Jack Hancox was called as mis sion pastor in July 1990 and contin ues as the church's first pastor.
