Nine Nominated To Governor's School Nine Brunswick County high school students have been nomi nated to attend North Carolina Governor's School, a slate-spon sored summer residential acade mic program for talented stu dents. Students attend the all-expens es paid program at one of two college campuses, St. Andrews College in Laurinburg or Salem College in Winston-Salem. They participate in courses related to their area of nomination as well as general classes aimed at de veloping thinking, creativity and leadership skills. Four students from South Brunswick and one student each from West Brunswick and North Brunswick were nominated in the area of academics, while two North Brunswick High and one South Brunswick high student were nominated in the perform ing arts. GED Tests Set At Three Sites Adults interested in obtaining a high school equivalency diploma (GED) can take the required tests during February at any of Bruns wick Community College's three campuses. All tests except that essay or writ ing skills test will be offered at the main campus on U.S. 17 Business north of Supply Tuesday, Feb. 9, from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m., and again Tuesday, Feb. 16, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. The same tests will be offered at the Southport campus, on North Lord Street, Thursday, Feb. 18, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. The writing skills last is offered at the Southport campus to day (Feb. 4) from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. All of the GED tests, including writing, arc offered at BCC's Leland Industrial Park campus Wednesday, Feb. 10, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Any of the tests except the writing exam, may also be uiken at the Leland campus Wednesday, Feb. 24, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. The industrial park is loeated on U.S. 74-76 at Leland.
