PEOPLE IN THE NEWS King Completes Master Farm Seminar 4- A Whitney King of Ash recently completed the Master Farm Management Seminar, an annual week-long event at N.C. State University de signed to tcach farmers basic and advanced fi nancial manage ment skills. The seminar is conductcd by the N.C. Co operative Extcn- king sion Service and funded by Farm Credit Services of North Carolina. Forty-three farmers?both men and women?attended the seminar to "enhance their ability to know and understand their financial status, to increase their profit potential through good financial management and to learn other management skills that will improve their farming oper ations," a news release stated. Topics covered included develop ing financial statements, using com puters in making management deci sioas, using the NCSU-developcd Farm Business Management Sys tem, general financial analysis and personal financial planning and management. "Skip" Davis, chairman of the Brunswick County Board of Health, has been elected to the Nominating and Awards Com mittee of the Association of North Carolina Boards of Health. He operates the Chiropractic Cen ter of Shallotte/Occan Isle. Completes Training Army National Guard Pvt. Rodric J. Gause has completed training at the U.S. Army Infantry School at Fori Bcnning, Ga. During the coursc, students re ceived training which qualified them as light-weapons infantrymen and as indirect-fire crewmen in a rifle or mortar squad.
